5 unexpected uses for tea
Not only is tea delicious & good for you can also use it to:
1. Tenderize tough cuts of meat, by brewing 4 tbs of black tea in hot water for 5 minutes, and then stir in 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Season meat with salt & pepper & place in a casserole dish. Pour the liquid over & cook for 1 1/2 hrs. The meat with melt in your mouth.
Make a soothing mouth wash, Brew up some Peppermint tea & add a
pinch of salt. Swish it around in your mouth to help relieve sore gums
or a toothache. Peppermint tea is an antiseptic & contains menthol
which helps relieve pain. Make sure you spit it out as the salt makes it
3. Clean wood furniture, Brew up some black tea & let it cool. Dip in a soft cloth & polish away. Your furniture will be tea rrifically shiny! Sorry...
4. Shine mirrors, use the left over brew after you've gone around & cleaned all your wooden furniture to get a streak free shiny mirror. Great for when you are hurrying your kids up in the morning to brush their teeth, just dip a cloth in your morning cuppa & wipe away!
5. Lighten up blonde highlights with Camomile tea, brew up 2-4 tbs of Camomile till it's quite strong, let it cool (as you don’t need to add to your morning stress with a burnt head) wet hair & apply the tea. You need to let it stay in for at least 30 minutes & dry it out in the sun (I’m guessing so the sun can lighten your hair!) then rinse & shampoo & condition as normal. It takes a few goes before you see any change but it will give your hair a nice treatment anyway.
